What Luma costs, and what you get for it

Last updated 2026-10-18

Luma is $49.99 a year, one charge, once a year. That is about a dollar a week. You get seven free days first, and we do not ask for a card to start. If you have not decided whether to pay for an app at all, the honest answer on whether it is worth it comes before the price.

The one plan

There is one plan and one price. No monthly option, no tiers, no add-ons, nothing else to buy. You pay $49.99 once a year, and that covers everything Luma does for the year.

$49.99 per year · one charge, once a year · about a dollar a week

  • 7 free days, no card to start
  • Ask anything, get a plain answer
  • Your week explained every Monday
  • A summary and three questions per appointment

What the price includes

  • The nightly check-in. Six taps in bed: sleep, mood, hot flashes, energy, brain fog, and your weight if you enter it.
  • The Monday report. What changed in your week and what it means, in plain English.
  • The 3am question. Type a question the way you would say it out loud, and get a straight answer.
  • The Doctor Kit. Two weeks of logging becomes a summary and the three questions to ask at your appointment.
  • No ads, no pop-ups, no upsells. The price is the price.

What the price does not include

Luma is not medical care. It does not diagnose or treat anything, and it is not a substitute for a clinician or for hormone therapy. The $49.99 does not include a doctor, a prescription, insurance billing, or an app from the App Store. Luma runs in your browser, so there is nothing to download.

  • No clinician. No doctor, nurse, or specialist is part of the plan.
  • No prescriptions. Luma does not prescribe or supply hormone therapy or any medication.
  • No insurance billing. Luma does not bill your insurance and is not covered care.
  • No App Store app. Luma opens in your browser. There is nothing to download and no app store involved.

How the free week works

You get seven days free, and we do not ask for a card to start. That matters because the most-upvoted warning in r/Menopause is about a menopause subscription that took a year upfront, kept billing, and switched off access early. We do not want you to hand over a card before you have seen the product. If you do nothing at the end of the free week, nothing is charged and the free access simply ends. If you do pay, it is $49.99 for the year, billed once through Stripe. We never see your card number.

Is it worth paying for?

The honest answer is that it depends on what you already have. If you only want to track your cycle, a free app like Balance does that, and you should not pay for Luma. If you want the part that explains your week back to you, connects the dots in your own logs, and writes the summary you take to an appointment, that is the part Luma charges for. In this category the real money is clinical: clinicians, hormone therapy, and covered care. Luma is not that. It is a logging and explanation tool, and it is priced below the tracker women already pay for.

Cancelling

Cancel in two taps from the Report screen, or email hello@lumaforwomen.com. Nothing else is charged after you cancel. You keep access until the end of the year you already paid for, and you keep everything you logged. We do not delete your history to punish you for leaving.

And if it turns out not to be for you, ask within thirty days of your charge and we refund it. No questions, no forms, no retention call. The price promise and the way out are the same sentence on the landing page, in the terms, and here, because a price is only honest if leaving is just as easy as joining.

Your logs stay yours

What you log is yours. We do not sell it, we do not share it, and there are no third-party analytics or tracking pixels on this site. No ads in the product, ever. Payments are handled by Stripe, and your logs are stored in a Cloudflare database. Those are the only companies that touch your data, and only to run the product.

How the price compares

Women in r/Menopause commonly quote Flo Premium at about $60 a year, and that is the number she will have in mind. Balance gives tracking and a health report away free. Luma sits at $49.99, about 17 percent below the Flo anchor, for the same nightly effort and the part that explains your week. The category's real money is clinical: clinicians, hormone therapy, and covered care. Luma is not that spend.
